This might work just as well and be a lot cheaper (29.00). A friend loaned me two of these, and they were great to use for raising lots of Pipevines before I got so overwhelmed with caterpillars. I kept Monarch butterflies in these until I could release them at one of the local Relay for Life meets. The Monarchs made it two weeks. I set up lights on top and put bouquets of nectar plants in the bottom. They break down easily and set up quickly. sandy Here is a link that might be useful: Butterfly terrarium

Green anoles (there are many species of anoles) can change color from brown to green and back again. Depends on their emotional state and the temperature.

The Southwestern Center for Herpetological Research cordially invites you (and your friends, family, and coworkers!) to participate in the 2015 Reptile and Amphibian Public Opinion Survey. This survey is designed to gauge the perspectives of not only reptile and amphibian enthusiasts, but those who are “not as fond” of these animals as well. It is GLOBAL in scope and ALL AGES are encouraged to participate. All opinions are important to record! The survey should take less than 30 minutes and can be found (along with the report from our 2013 Herper Survey) on SWCHR’s web site at http://southwesternherp.com/survey.html. The report on the results from the current survey will also be made available to you when it is complete. The survey will be open for participation through November 30th, so please share this invitation with everyone you know to help us paint a better picture of current popular attitudes toward reptiles and amphibians! SWCHR is a Texas non-profit association governed by a Board of Directors and is subject to the tax-exempt provisions of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. SWCHR is dedicated to promoting the education of the Association's members and the general public relating to the natural history, biology, taxonomy, conservation and preservation needs, field studies, and captive propagation of the herpetofauna indigenous to the six states of the American Southwest. Membership is open to all persons having an interest in the herpetology of the American Southwest.

Elmer, I don't especially "do" reptiles either, I am somewhat phobic of them. Something about them simply reaches into a deep subconscious part of me, even when it is one I know is non-venomous. However for the tiny snake I picked up, it was so small and so cute that it never even occurred to me to be frightened. My biggest concern was that I might drop it as it wriggled around on my glove, and it might be injured by the fall. I like to think that I'm enlightened enough that although I am unsettled by seeing one there is no need to reflexively kill all snakes I see. Given the number of snakes I've seen over the past several years, many in relative proximity to my house, and given how you can see one and then just a few seconds later it disappears, that there probably have been snakes near you as you go through your yard far more often then you would guess. Just yesterday I arrived at home and saw this at the base of the steps to our house:and I definitely jumped upon seeing it.
