well guys its up and running no gun needed after all.apparantly when the regulator was in the process of going bad it fried about a six in section of wiring of the main harness leading to the fuses in the loom. you could smell it but not see it. I am happy,happy I can go to work,walk behinds are great but its hot and i'm tired. by the way talking to the bobcat main headquarter they told me it could be the belts,(bad bearing causing increased amperage due to more resistance on pully system)stator harness,delay module or pto. who said girls can't fix stuff, sometimes it just takes awhile to figure it out.thanks again

It was around 1994 before the Summit was built, we were taking the Mtn. Brook exit off 459 @ about 3am, in our head lights we saw movement. As we got closer it was a couger climbing the man made hill where the Summit is now. Also I took my boys up to bowl at Brunswick Lanes for their midnight special. When I went back to pick them up. Right where you launch your canoes to the Cahaba on old Florida hwy beneath 280. There was a large couger walking slowly down the trail. At that time we lived at Riverchace Apts on Caldwell Mill Rd. Right next to the bridge. Don't know what they are called now, but our townhouse backed up to the Cahaba and when it was nice outside we kept our windows open you could hear them down on the river late at night. I never knew there was any question if they were here until I came across this site. All of us use to talk about them as a matter of fact. We all knew they were here. They are beautiful creatures. Now that everything has built up I'm sure they have moved on. Let's hope not. We don't live there and have been gone a long time. For those of you that question what I saw, I studied big cats and spent the summer at what is now Big Cat Rescue in Fla. My hope is that everyone can see them in the wild.

There is a breeding population in Woodward County along the Colorado border area. There have been a few killed by wildlife people and ranchers in that area for taking their livestock. Take a look at a satellite image from Google of Mapquest of that county and you will see that the NW portion is an extension of the "mountain" range coming out of New Mexico and Colorado and that is as far into this part of the country that mountain lions reside. (This population is pretty new and they have only been there in the last two decades.) Outside of those confirmations there have been, in the last decade, confirmations around the state in (1) the Ponca City area of one from South Dakota that was hit by a train, (2) one in the Perkins area in a really poor quality trail cam shot 2 or 3 years ago, (3) one rumored to have been killed crossing I35 near Purcell about 10 years ago, and (4) the one by the trail cam near Atoka last year. Plus, I know of one other in eastern Oklahoma from a few years ago that was never publicized. Most of Oklahoma is really far from any breeding population of lions so we don't get many lone males wondering around, but we are starting to see them a little more. Nebraska now has a small breeding population that has come from the South Dakota Black Hills in the last 5 years, North Dakota has a similar small population that dispersed from the Black Hills, and states like Wisconsin, Kansas, and Iowa have see a handful start to show up in the last few years that are also dispersing from the Black Hills area. All have been younger males looking for new home ranges. In the main body of Texas and even a couple of times into Louisiana there have been confirmations of younger males roaming through, but not as many as there have been in the past because the resident populations in South Texas and the Big Bend area were not really increasing until maybe just recently. The populations in Florida and the Black Hills of South Dakots have been studied extensively. Large percentage of the animals in those states (and any populated area) are killed annually by autos beacause of how far the animals travel in their normal routine. If we had any resident population here we would see bodies showing up regularly.

Cool, three of them! I see them every so often on my local hikes but only one at a time, never a family. They are so used to people around here some are raising their litters in backyards. I came upon one standing on a trail I was hiking. It was about 40 feet away. When it saw me, it sat right in the middle of the trail for about two minutes and then got up and walked off into the brush. The camera I had with me at the time was brand new and I had only spent about 20 mins with it. I managed to goober up all the settings so my photos of the cat were a little blurry. Jodi-
