Central KS report, Part 2

Massasaugas, kingsnakes, bullsnakes and horned lizards were everywhere on the roads, mostly dead or dying. Parking on the side of the road at one location, we field-found a live horned lizard, always a great find. We walked back to the car after pictures to find another cornutum right next to the car on the road, soaking up the sun:

Common, but still great finds under rocks in central Kansas:

At our next stop, I uncovered a beautiful pair of pits under a large rock. One had what appeared by shape/size to be a rabbit in its stomach. They would not hold still for pics so Chad wrassled emÂ:

We also saw a beautiful, very yellow kingsnake which I was out of pictures for (Chad, pics available?), and a couple of pairs of CP milks. One pair was actively mating. This put us over our 20 gentilis goal, so after accidently finding one more (it was terrible) we promptly went back to road hunting, finishing out the day with more DORs, a plains garter, and no hog, but we had nothing to complain aboutÂgreat day.
