Mother's Day Herps

Yesterday I took my Mom out to my girlfriendÂs Mom's house in St Francois Co, MO. It just so happens that there's some pretty good habitat around her house so while the Mom's visited my girlfriends little boy (Cade) and myself did some herping. The first thing turned up was a nice little Red Milk found next to the road under a RR tie. Right after the Milk a big Yellow-bellied Racer took off through the weeds but I managed to grab a hold of it just long enough to get a close look. A Prairie Ring-necked Snake was found next under some tin. Last, while looking through some scrap lumber we found three big Osage Copperheads but just took a good look and left them be. Not a bad way to spend Mother's Day if you ask me.

Photos of the Red Milk coming soon.
