Red Milk Snake in the open and 4 Copperheads

One of my last two outings involved seeing a Red Milk Snake in the open (only the second live one ever that I've in the open rather than under cover) and four copperheads.

My last two outings:

Saturday May 5th Boone County 8:00PM to 9:45PM (walk and observe along bluffs with a flashlight while lifting some rocks):

Total:

4 Osage Copperheads (3 on the crawl, one under a rock)

3 Prairie Ringneck Snakes (2 on the crawl, one under a rock)

1 Red Milk Snake (out in the open on the side of a bluff near a seep)

1 Black Rat Snake (on the crawl)

Sunday May 6th Camden and Miller Counties 9:00AM to 3PM (glade herping)

4 Rough Earth Snakes

3 Western Ribbon Snakes

3 Rough Green Snakes

2 Speckled Kingsnakes

2 Eastern Yellow-Bellied Racers

2 Flatheaded Snakes

1 Eastern Narrowmouth Toad

Also:

TMTC Prairie Racerunners

Several Northern Fence Lizards

Several Three-Toed Box Turtles
