Mary Lu, I love when they set up cameras like this. The Norfolk Botanical Garden has nesting eagles and we got to check them out on the live cam while we were there a year ago. It was so amazing to watch them. This is so timely as I happened to see a bald eagle perched so stately in a tree on my way home from work today.

Since DDT was banned, the eagles have returned. It took a long time for the poisons to purge out of the Great Lakes, but now eagles may be seen often along the shores of the Great Lakes. They like to scout for dead fish on the shore, but sometimes they will go after ducks in the river. I have a lot of information about the return of eagles, peregrine falcons and ospreys in my book, The Dynamic Great Lakes. Eagles have returned to other regions of the U.S. and Canada as well. This list is useful if you want to watch raptors nesting and raising young. Sites from all over the world and the nesting has already started for eagles. Joe T Here is a link that might be useful: Nest Cams

Me too, mimipadv. Nature is not for the squeamish. Has anyone else heard of Wild Heart Ranch in Claremore, Ok? They do a lot of great work. They rehab and return eagles (and many other animals) to the wild. Their FB feed is always interesting. http://www.wildheartranch.org/default.asp
