The young are yelling for their food. The adults still tend the young for a while after they are out of the nest. Be glad you have hawks they are efficent at keeping varmin, rabbits, chipmunks and squirrels in balance. The yelling will soon end when the young can fend for themselves.

Hi Gail I have not been on in a while, so glad that your hawks are bonding...such a nice site to see... My RT's have moved down the street I do not see them as often but they do still come around...they are building the nest elsewhere as I have observed them carrying sticks .. This winter I have not been out much with my Hubby being sick I have been otherwise occupied....but things are looking up and I have started getting out and can not wait until spring and watching the RT's is a sure sign....will keep you posted...hopefully the pair will be successful this year...Claire

Unless you are in the wide open, treeless spaces of the Plains, forget it. Redtails are highly unlikely to use such a nest site. If there is a tree within 5 miles, it will be used before a lone pole. (I've bred redtails in captivity, and study their wild nesting habits.) Sorry. Thanks for thinking of these great birds, anyway. Put up some kestral nest boxes way up on the poles, and they will be used.
