They were great. I also watched serveral. But during the Vines I got stuck on that page and could not get off. I closed out, I logged off, I restarted and turned the computer off and back on. Mozilla kept opening to that same page. I finally clicked something near the toolbar, and got myself unentangled. That had never happened before.

I'm not an expert so probably can't help but... I think you have enough speed you shouldn't even need to let it buffer, but know how to do so, so it's probably not Internet speed. Your system seems fine specification-wise. To me anyway. I don't think or know much about video cards but I wouldn't think it would be the physical card, but I don't really know. My wild guess would be the driver. :) This is what mine shows when I go to "System settings"--->"Additional Drivers": If it were me, I'd try a different driver if there's any listed there. Maybe you already have? Other than that, I don't have a clue. I'm running 12.04 and youtube's and other videos play fine for me. If someone else here doesn't have the answer, there's always the Ubuntu forum. Just a thought. Edit: Just out of curiosity, does the snow in my "My Page" fall smoothly or does it stop and go as it falls? This post was edited by chuggerguy on Thu, Jan 3, 13 at 20:40

Steph, a lovely idea to make the mobiles with your southwestern ornaments. Around here, a lot of folks collect driftwood, and then use tiny screw eyes and monofilament fishing line to hang their shells or other things from those. I am in love with Swarovski and Waterford crystals, their Christmas starts, and that is what I give my granddaughters and grandnieces as a present every Christmas. By the time they are grown, they will be able to decorate a small tree with their collections, I figure. But putting them on a mobile inside near an A/C vent will keep them moving. I have three types of tuned musical windchimes that I've acquired over the years. The first one was made by Grace Note Chimes, then J. W. Stannard (also make musical instruments), and then Woodstock Chimes. Woodstock chimes had a screensaver program that I used for a long time, because the sound kept my house alive with intermittent tinkling and sounding of random notes. I think each of those folks maintains a website where you can listen to the sound of each of their chimes. Tuned chimes are wonderful. I still have chimes located around myy house here, where their tones let me know what the breeze outside is doing. It makes me feel connected to my environment. I had one huge chime I left up north in MA, but the strong winds there broke the cords holding it together. I have yet to mail it back to Grace Note Chimes to let them reassemble it for me. It sounds like church bells, so full, resonant, and mellow. I won't throw it away, it is gorgeous. To get a start at building your own mobiles, instructions should be available in many places, plus check your local library. Here is a link that might be useful: Grace Note Chimes

I was thinking yesterday--life hasn't changed YET. Church: I go to adoration on my way to work and find Father saying Mass--telecasting on Facebook and stayed so, so far that is all same same. This Sunday it won't be. DH goes to work as usual, I do to--my 'work' has changed as students are 'on line' but still. Card group is cancelled..we take our walks as weather permits as usual.DH's compound bow league has been on until this coming week but it was near the last weeks anyway. Our offspring all live in other States. They all continue to work--DD#1 is working from home managing her counties website. DD#2 is working on a treatment in her laboratory for this virus. The cows are peculating--it's about three weeks out yet. Son like father is doing his engineering thing...I think those of us who are not movers and shakers who are home bodies are really not as affected. I shop once a week. Will go this morning at 6 as usual..will get what I can. Yesterday shopping the local walmart for students, what I saw says I will be able to get what I want--milk/fresh vegis/fruit. I buy sales so have a freezer full of meat and staples. Stay calm enjoy being out of the rat race. Life here in the quiet simpler lives is really not so bad.
