Looks like a Millipede. These we buggers live on decaying organic matter, such as that potting soil. While they do not present any real hazard to you it can be disconcerting to see them., and most likely to potting soil had eggs in the mix when you purchased it. Did it have eight legs? How big was it? This is just a guess, but it looks like it might be what is called a sun spider of some kind. Might be called something else where you are.

Google pear blister mites. That's what it is. You can try spraying with wettable sulfur following the label. If you can find lime sulfur, it is a more effective spray for PBM but the best time to spray is right before the trees leaf out. it won't kill the trees but it sure makes leaves look ugly.
