Thanks for finding this information. I do think that is exactly what the squirrels have. Of the three that my mom had, only one had the full back marking and the other two were spotted white. We thought they were probably from the same litter. I looked for pictures of the spotted ones, but I must have not taken any. It is amazing that the two squirrels, 350 miles apart would have the same markings. Thanks again for solving this mystery.

I think you're experiencing the same thing I am - Fox squirrels. Take a look at the Wikipedia page I linked and you'll see what I mean. I wasn't aware of the different variations/colorations/species. I always thought Fox squirrels were the very red, tufted-ear or black large squirrels that were not in our area. Now I'm seeing what looks like rusty grey squirrels and after a little research it looks like they are actually Fox squirrels. I have selected BM Brilliant White for my cabinets and BM Owl Grey for my walls. I picked them after looking at MANY other colors, as I was trying to find paints to flow gracefully from this marble backsplash: http://www.terrabellamarble.com/contactus/ (The geometric pattern is my backsplash. It's actually three different marbles, eastern white, Asian Carrara, and Calcutta gold. My countertops will be Bianco Rhino, a lovely, neutral white with creamy golden flecks that pick up the Calcutta gold. The backsplash is the "glam" factor in the kitchen and I didn't want a busier marble or granite to fight it.) ANYWAY, here's my question: has anyone used Brilliant White on their cabinets? It's a bit of a soft white with grey undertones; it is not as stark as Simply White (which I tried on a sample) or as creamy as Dove White. If you have experience, let me know! (BTW, I'm using the same Owl Grey for my mudroom, but BM Winter Gates on my cabinetry. Thought it best to go dark and pretend I'm hiding the scuffs left by four boys dumping book bags.)

You can do a search on this forum for "Shower waterproofing" and read what the pros have to say when people are having trouble with their showers, and you will learn a lot. The search box is at the top of the page. You may not understand how water gets in back of the tiles that are installed and grouted unless you know that grout is not waterproof. That is why the surface behind the tile must be waterproofed. Water should evaporate again, once the shower is not i use, or the shower system should have weep holes in the drain that allow any drips behind the tile to go down the drain. If there is not waterproofing, then the cement board (or improperly used drywall) behind the tile gets wet. If there is direct contact with wood, then it soaks up the moisture and voila! you have mold and rot. If you have water proofing and Creative Tile Eastern CT is right and it is a glazing issue with your tile, it may be that you have good waterproofing behind it. The bad news is that removing the defective tile will likely ruin the waterproofing. So read up on waterproofing and understand how it is supposed to be done (there are several methods) so that you can discuss it with the person you hire to replace the shower. Many, many handymen and even bathroom contractors do not use approved methods. Reading those threads you search for here will help you with the education you are going to need to have this fixed right. I might start by contacting the tile manufacturer and sending them photos and asking if they are having issues with their tile glazing. Pros here often recommend that you hire someone who is a member of the Tile Council of North America (TCNA) to assess the problem. Go read some threads and you will catch on to how it all works.
