Thank you everyone for helping me with some ideas. Ashef thanks so much for the Cote de Texas website. Wow, some of those curtains are amazing. I'm really wanting to do my kitchen and the morning room in a country feel. And I found a pic of my red gingham curtains on that website, that I think just may work. Now just to find a deal on them somewhere. I haven't bought any curtains in a few years and forgot how expesive they are.

I think they look nice from the outside of the house. The south-side of our home borders relatively closely on another home, so we made efforts to put in windows on that side of the home that were interesting, but high up and not huge, so as to achieve privacy. That was the thinking. We have a similar set of windows in our dining room downstairs, also on that side of the house, so from the outside I like them. I also like them inside. The east wall of our bedroom has a very large window. But other than that, there are no windows except for these south-facing ones. So I would like to keep them unless everyone thinks they are a disaster. I am going to do some looking into these "mini cellulars" lascatx mentions. Any brands people have liked for this kind of window dressing?

This is an inside view. I currently have faux vines around it to help a little. Bear in mind that I plan to paint the kitchen a color similar to SW Copper Mountain over Christmas vacation and those checked curtains are gone. This is an exterior view I love the idea of a roman shade but how expensive would it be? I did consider getting a sheet of luan cut to size and getting my very talented sister to paint a mural on it.

First thing is at night, leave the lights on in the room then go outside and take a look so you can see exactly what others might see. That will help you determine the degree of privacy you need and whether or not you need to treat the center window at all. Hopefully not. I might then try inside mounted panel of fabric on each of the left and right windows just to the sill that each get pulled back to the far side for day time to a hook, and then let loose to cover the windows at night.
