ID this Bee.??

Can anyone tell me what type of Bee this is. I have searched the net but still don't know.

I found him crawling across my living room floor earlier this afternoon all dazed.

looking at the bee it had a long spike coming out of its mouth, looking on the internet i found out it was a ' tongue sheaf'

Do all Bee's have these?

All nectar-eating bees do. From the pollen baskets on the rear legs you seem to have a honey bee or a wild nectar and pollen collecting bee,

What does the rear end look like?

I would say a bumble bee, it's not a honey bee.

Yes indeed, yellow-faced bumble bee! Thanks jean001a. Definitely queen, she was every bit of 19 mm (according to Wikipedia, queen is 14-19 mm), and I would have guess more. Now I'll have to check those particular crocuses for size.:-)

Thanks so much peren.all (you are clever!). (AKA as the "Armenian Basket Flower") I have never seen it in my neck of the woods in Ontario and yet it is common out west. And reading its description on perennials.com I spy the sentence: Extremely hardy, and a good choice for gardeners in prairie regions.

Not a bumble bee. Bumble bees are yellow with black sripes. Your bee appears to be a secies of a honey bee.

Nope, it is not a hornet. It is a wood borer bee. They do like flowers too, and will get globs of pollen on their legs. :)
