Albino Canada Goose?

I actually watched this flock fly into the field across from my house this morning. I saw the white goose at the head of the formation. At first, I thought it might have been one of those abnormally huge seagulls that frequent the Jersey shore. I went over to take some photos. From what I've seen online, the few albino shots of the goose had a black bill and legs, although a few showed the yellow bill & legs. Some said they may have been hybrids. Side by side, the white one seemed a bit larger than the others.

I think that is a hybrid domestic. Domestic geese have bright orange legs and beaks.

Of course there is always the question about making wild animals tame by feeding them, thus making them more vulnerable to hunters, etc., but I dunno-the deer in my area recognize me and let me approach, but disappear if anyone else comes around. Most geese are very territorial and will attack people who approach a nest or mate, so you have to know your animals. Tame deer are the most dangerous of all, I've read. Newspaper accounts tell of urban deer, who are never hunted and thus unafraid of humans, attacking people in their own driveways. It's usually best to let wild animals be wild, and to get a large mammal dependent on humans for food is often the way to get it killed. Like the signs say in the State Parks, a fed bear is a dead bear. And feeding birds human food, like bread crumbs, etc., is never a good idea. Veterinarians warn people not to feed pet dogs human food because it causes the same diseases in dogs that it causes in people, and cooked, processed, chemical-filled food is too nutritionally compromised for wild animals with their natural, raw food diets. Of course, you can feed all the white bread you want to Starlings and House Sparrows. These dumpster birds seem to thrive on garbage!

Geese and ducks like to flock ... and if someone dumped a domestic goose it will hang out with whatever water birds will accept it. that looks like pure domestic barnyard "grey goose" to me.

Yup, the bill shape (it looks kind of smiling), head shape, and all white body with black primaries poking out the back end ID this as a Snow Goose. BN

Not an albino - it's got some pigmentation. It is extremely unlikely to be a hybrid because Canada geese and domestics aren't even in the same genus.

What color are the winf tips? Snow geese have black tips.

Some Snow geese are dark grey-blue on the body - and some of them are pale grey like this one.

I am seeing a family of 8 visit often and they are getting bigger. One is definitely lighter with orange beak and feet. All too little to fly now. I am wondering if it'll fly? I am thinking one of my domestic geese laid an egg on the island and the Canada goose sat on it and laid her eggs? My domestic white geese don't fly, so if this one does, it'll be a real treat if we continue to see him/her :) The above photos may be domestic, but domestic geese don't fly and Tracey above said she watched the flock fly in. My three families have been back each year for the past 3 years. Would love some feed back. Thank you :)

Where i live in Ontario Canada we call them snow geese if that helps any

My geese are domestic and they can fly. I never seen them go higher than rooftop, but not sure if its too hard for them to fly high, or they just not interested in leaving property
