Yes this is a Long Tailed Duck. They are fairly common off the coast of Southern New Jersey at this time of year. See the link below. Here is a link that might be useful: Long Tailed Duck

It is an American Tree Sparrow. The two white wing bars, yellowish beak, gray face, and location point to tree sparrow. A Chipping Sparrow in winter in eastern Canada would be an exceptional sighting. See link below for another pic of this great winter sparrow for comparison. Someone has since said that they think it could be a Winter Goldfinch (and when I googled images...yes, that looks pretty darn close to what I think I saw!)

So that's where my belted kingfisher went. I think they are so cool looking. Can hardly wait for spring to see them around here again.
