OK I think I figured it out.... I think its a red-breasted nuthatch!

I agree with the squirrel nest - I have a lot of them and I've seen a squirrel running between them: A squirrel bustled up and down the trees at sunrise - it looked like it was checking the various nests to see who was awake and up. That's a male so-called "English house sparrow"(Passer domesticus), an invasive species that is neither English nor a true sparrow, but an African weaver finch. These prolific birds are very messy and destroy nests of many cavity-nesting native bird species in order to build their own bulky nests in their places.

I love those-but only had them at the feeder once a year for about two days, so had to be quick if I wanted a photo!

That's a great little bird. I have a few this year and they love to pick out the peanuts from the feeder mix.
