Thank you, Ingrid. I have not met that rose so far but HMF says it does have prickles. It is in the right color camp. I'll need to give it plenty of room if it is a noisette. These first blooms can be so misleading too. What it was supposed to be, MS-C, is so distinctive that it just cannot be that. This rose color has so many more possibilities. I did an autopsy yesterday on a bloom each of my Georgetown Tea and Madame Lombard/Lambard which have come from ARE and almost always look identical to me. Cass did great photos in HMF describing the petal base as more pink white and with darker pink veins for Georgetown Tea, and more sulfur yellow base without veins for Madame Lombard. I think mine might both be Madame Lombard. Cass's photos are in the Georgetown Tea HMF.

Kes Z, thank you It certainly matches the description of Orange Hearts. You have an observant eye to have noticed the heart shaped petals. One of the photos on HMF even shows the mauve hue on the petal's edge. It make sense that it would be a "found rose" because of the miss named shrub that I got my cutting. People will find a register name to put on a mystery rose so they can enter it in rose shows.

Can you take a photo showing the base of a frond or fronds. It might be Lady Fern, but can't tell until I see the shape of an entire frond.

"never seen sweetgums used in a landscape setting" More common than you would think :-) They are frequently planted here as both street trees and commercial parking lot trees. And as landscape specimens. They are all over the place in California. My sister's tiny townhouse garden had 13 (!!) planted, which she reduced down to only 5 in the 25 years or so she lived there. Having said that, I don't think these are sweetgums. Enlarging the photo seems to show a lot of leaves dissimilar to that species.
