My plants fell over! or the wind blew them...

Those of you who build those concrete reinforcing wire cages will have a laugh. Some of my tomatoes are trellised on twine to a frame made of galvanized plumbing pipe - they're doing fine. But my Italian Pompeii sauce tomato plants are staked. They are so tall - I haven't had the heart to top them yet - and it was pretty breezy here tonight, and the next thing I know, they've tipped over! The two plants behind them buffered the fall (the garden fence, in turn, kept *them* in place). My husband helped me tie them up again - by looping twine behind the stake, and up to the cross bar of the trellis on the opposite side of the garden. It was already getting dark when we discovered the fall, so I haven't been able to check for damage.

I hope these maters taste good b/c they're my healthiest and best-producing plants. I'm so excited about growing Opalkas next year that I tend to think of *these* as Opalkas....which is bound to be a let-down when I finally taste one.
