Here are some things I saw in my yard today:

A hummingbird that sits in the top of my Japanese Maple guarding the feeder.

Thanks, Rachel. My daughter lives in TX and her feeders are really being hit hard this week. She said it sounds like a beehive when she goes outside.

great pics! I planted some red hot poker from seeds and they were one of the very few things I got to grow at my first effort of winter sowing. I've had them about 3 years though and they still haven't bloomed. I have two others I got in a trade as large plants and neither have they. I guess I need to move them around and try some different soil to see what they do. The rose and pomegranite are gorgeous. I wish the pomegranite would be hardy and set fruit here. I can remember when I was little *a very long time ago* my grandmother would buy them for us and it would take us all day to eat one but we loved them. She'll be 100 in September and I'd love to see her everyday. Nancy

Thank you Floral! :) - The landlord did say there was a garden on the property before! But when these do come up they just have regular roots. No radishes. Someone told me that it's like wild brocolli? I'm Coastal in Northern CA and I see it a lot on the headlands. Anyway, when I looked it up there was a similar plant listed as a wild mustard plant that was used to make brocolli, cabbage, kale and others. I thought this was that plant and thats were I thought I had the name. I kind of like the way exploded in my yard! Thanks Mike- I wonder what kind of worm. I can't wait for it to fruit. Our yard is full of the Evergreen Huckleberries, but I have never noticed the red ones. I'll be sure to check them out when I pick. I love picking berries but once I see a worm I'm kinda done for the day. Ugh.

That's a beatiful doll Jin, your daughter is lucky to recieve such a beatiful gift.I bet she loves her. The first picture is a vase. I paid I think $3 for the vase and $5 for the first doll and $4 for the last one, I thought they were very beatiful. The last doll has roses in her hair and the first one is holding a pail with flowers and stuff and has yellow flowers.

Love the first lotus picture and the red headed woodpecker the most. Very nice photos. I'm in Texas and have never seen as many hummingbirds at my feeders as I am now.

Great photos! Love the Red-headed Woodpeckers. The Downy is actually a Hairy. A Downy would be considerably smaller than the Red-headed, would have black spots on those outer white tail feathers, and would have a smaller bill.

Nice photos!
I'm in southwest Missouri too and have only seen a red headed woodpecker once or twice in our yard since we've lived here (20+ years).
