You may have to take down all you bird feeders, making sure no scraps, dog food or cracked corn is on the ground. Unless a neighbor is feeding the Starlings, hopefully they'll soon move on to greener pastures.

If they are congregating there to roost, or already established, the large amounts of waste could be dangerous for you and your pets.

They are an intelligent, resourceful bird, extremely hard to displace once they get established in a neighborhood, so it's important to discourage them early

Thank yo so much, Rachel, for all of your useful information. We have a vineyard on 5 acres, lots of oaks and trees. We have a Bird Gard that has recorded distress calls. We chased them off with a pellet gun - we'll see if they stay away.....
