need help with a baby bird please

I'm guessing My cat killed the parents and other babies. It's has some pin feather but can't move around too well. I'm guessing it's too young. I've been feeding it oatmeal for a few days now, but I'm thinking that's not good enough.

It seems ok but I'd rather feed it some thing more nutritious.

The closest one is over an hour away and I am waiting for them to email me back.
I couldn't get the links to work on Faq page I finally did find a page that worked for me.

The concept of a roller is good - it will flatten things out - but the practice could very well create additional problems. Weight will cause soil compaction and weight on saturated soils can irretrievably damage soil structure. Soils under lawns tend to be compacted anyway, due to the amount of foot traffic they get as well as the routine use of equipment like lawn mowers, etc. And a heavily compacted soil prevents water from penetrating deeply, causes the roots of lawn grasses to stay very close to the soil surface and contributes to issues like thatch build-up, soil infertility and diseases. Aerating the lawn (later in the season, after the soil has dried sufficiently) to alleviate compaction and then adding soil (or better yet, a fine, screened compost if you have it) to even out the low spots may be the most practical and economical approach. You could overseed at the same time if you have large areas involved or very deep depressions but the existing grass should grow through a reasonable thickness of soil or compost. And you wouldn't even have to till!

Nice greeeen plant you have. Mine looks terrible right now. I water maybe once a week and have it in the shade trying to recover from the fertilizer burn. Before that it was in full sun. So can you tell if my plant is the bop or banana plant? Also while repotting it I added in lots of perilite. So should I just keep following the brown stems and trimming? How about using a spray bottle of water should I and at what time of the day, how often?

Put some branches to cover it. The mother bird will probably return. It is more or less not true that birds will desert the nest if you handle the birds....however, I don't know about interfering with the nest. If she does return....stay away from the area completely and it will be less likely that she will leave.

For the birds, though, whenever I comb my cats, I pull the fur off the brush and put it outside. One time I found a bird nest and it was lined with my cat's fur. :)

You could try moist dog food.
Are you feeding the baby bird with a syringe?

I was using a syringe, but find it much easier to use the other end of a seafood fork. It's shaped like a post hole digging shovel, but really tiny.lol
It;s now eating a mixture of dog food mixed with poke berries. I also feed it cut up grasshoppers, cabbage worms, crickets, moths, sow bugs, and meal worms dusted with pulverized oyster shells. It's not making any attempt to eat without me shoveling food in it's mouth. But It's getting much stronger to the point where I actually think it's going to live. :)
Still no response from the rehabbers. I think I'm on my own here. But hopefully it will be flying next month?
