Cerulean Warbler

It is so sad what is happening to this once common warbler. Thanks to corporate farmers and loggers who want to see Kentucky,Tenn, and other states look like Kansas this most beautiful of all the Wood Warblers is in serious trouble now. They require mature forests and their stronghold used to be the rich, bottomland forests that used to be so huge along the Ohio,Mississippi, and their tributaries. These bean and corn fields are way too big and we should not ruin our forest ecosystems in this country to feed the whole world. That is wrong and we are losing beautiful birds like the Cerulean. What a shame if they go extinct one day on us. Now the Cerulean is being replaced with scum Starlings on barren asphalt and nasty House Sparrows cheep on the Walmart store sign where a lush forest filled with Ceruleans and so many other American birds once stood.

It is an outrage what is happening to the forests in this country and around the world. Well as the Cerulean Warbler gets scarcer and scarcer and the worlds gets hotter and hotter as the great forests fall a date with the extinction of our own species loom larger and larger also. The Cerulean Warbler is telling us something but unfortunately most people in this world could care less. What a shame that this beautiful creature is now on the verge of being added to the endangered list. They are beyond a doubt the most beautiful of all "Blue Birds" in the world. What a sad world it would be without this bird singing its cool song high in the canopy of a mature forest. I don't want to live in a world like that.Mike Brown..Kentucky
