Possibly Juvenile Cowbirds at Feeder Today?

Today I noticed that the "finches" at our feeder were being very competitive and belligerent. There was a lot of squawking and flapping, over six perches. And all by what I thought were young house finches.

I went out to take down the feeder and get a break from the noise, and one small bird remained on the feeder right until I was up close and it looked me in the eye. I then noticed how dark brown it was. It finally took off and I put the feeder in the garage until tomorrow.

What got me was this bird's color and the way it looked at me, sort of bold. I went through some photos later and saw what looked like this bird under "juvenile cowbird." Yikes. We had had a distinctively male cowbird in our tree a few weeks ago.

If indeed some cowbirds are hanging around our property, how do I get them to leave? Keep my feeder in the garage for awhile? Or does this behavior not sound like cowbirds?

Any thoughts will be appreciated, it was not a nice scene at the feeder today. Maybe finches are also bold and obnoxious, I am very new to birding and would love to have some input.

Thanks so much in advance -
