I love camping

I graduated this year and got my first job, but to find it's not as great as I expected. Everything seems boring for quite a long time, but now I have found new fun in my outdoor life. It gives me a complete relaxation. Hope more people will fall in love this sports:)

However, I just got a second-hand backpack and even don't have a tent yet.

I wonder where you guys buy your outdoor equipment, could you recommend some good stores?

Hi Aliu, welcome to the board.

I camp mostly off a motorcycle, which means using mostly backpacking equipment.

I get most of my gear from http:\\www.campmor.com and http:\\www.rei.com. I'm now using a Sierra Designs Sirius 3 tent, a Backpacker Magazine (I think) editor's choice back in 2005, which I got from somewhere after googling on the internet. LLBean is another source. They seem to be more oriented to family camping in general, but I was dissatisfied with my campmor down sleeping bag and am much happier with LLBean's Mt. Katahdin down bags. I got pairs of the 20 degree and 40 degree bags, for me they're comfortable to about 10 degrees over their ratings.

Cheryl, Welcome to the forum. There are quite a number of frequent members. You will find a lot of helpful info. and tips. Feel free to ask for any advice, someone seems to always come up with the answer. I would love to visit Australia sometime, must be beautiful. With you having some time off now, maybe it's time to get back into camping and see how the kids like it. For the first time, you can even set up in your backyard to see what you forgot and need for the REAL trip. The kids might even like sleeping in the yard. I love winter camping, sitting round a fire in the snow, hot cocoa mug warming your hands, fresh snow on the ground, LOVE it. Dust off your tent and get out there. Lynda

I like to use Campmor but you have to know what you are looking at. The pictures in the catalogs are drawings. If you do your research first you can get what you want at a good price. I've also found quite a few finds (recently a lantern and stove) at yard sales!
