Delicate question

My 92 year old mother wants to go camping with us. The problem is, she definitely wants her own "porta potty" inside her tent. Have never bought one so have no idea where to start. We need something that is easy to operate and easy to clean. Any ideas?

The camping section of walmart has a couple of different kinds. Some even have a flush option. Go on the internet to campmore or cabelas they should have some also. They go for anywhere from $30.00 on up.

Of course, you could use a five gallon bucket with a toilet seat on it. Have another five gallon bucket filled with saw dust, and scoop plenty on top of each load. :)

Should be a great addition to a compost pile after the camping trip.

Thank you all for your advice. I think I knew already that would be the answers. My DLs are sending up scapes and many blooms, but the blooms are not as large as last year, One that comes to mind is Siloam Double Classic. Last year it was gorgeous. This year, while there are many blooms they are smaller. We have also been without rain for a long time. We get rain in the areas around us, but we get hardly a mist. I can water because we have a good well, but I am not sure how long to let the sprinkler run at each section, and I read some place to little is worse than none at all. They say plants need an inch of rain a week, but how do you measure what an inch is when sprinkling? I was going to set a pan out in the garden and see how long it takes to get an inch of water accumulated, but wouldn't it make a difference in the size of the container, or would it show properly since the amount of water dropping in to the container would vary in time according to the size of that container? Yes chisue,that is exactly what I am saying...however,keep in mind,I was in my 30's..not sure if that would make that much of a difference,but I had PMS and menopause on my side..hard to believe,but I went thru the both of them at the same time--for years..and the thinning vaginal walls was a real problem..the really good thing about that time was that the Old Lad(ex husband now) worked away for months at a time my gyno put me on that stuff..it worked..and I never had or have had any cancer scares or issues regarding the hormonal treatments I have had to have..good luck!

The easiest to clean is the kind that is in two separate sections. The top part latches onto the bottom (which is the holding tank). You just unlatch and empty and rinse a few times and latch back into place.

They are efficient and can also be used in the sickroom at home if one can't get to the bathroom very well or at all. The deodorants they sell work very well.

They all sit rather low (lower than the ones you have at home), so I don't know if that would be a problem with her since she is 92. Perhaps she could test yours first if you have one before you make a purchase.

Buy her a nice motorhome for gosh sakes! 92! She deserves a nice diesel pusher with dual slideouts. Cmon...it's your MOMMA!!

I've seen a set-up where the people put up a canvas on 5 poles, in the shape of a square, with an extension flap and post with ropes staked out, and a portable toilet (Porta-potty)! nobody could see in, the canvas was on the ground at the bottom, and there was a little flag that could be hung up whenever anybody was inside! Kept any smells out of the tent, and saved a long walk to the bathroom!
