Dale, I have one of the Walmart ones because it came as part of a rain suit. I got it two seasons ago for my canoe camping trips on the Delaware River. It's held up great for me!

I went to 3 Walamrts, a few K Marts, Penny's, Boscovs and other places to find a 2 piece heavy rain suit for my son for Christmas to no avail. He has been working outside all winter rebuilding houses for Habitat for Humanity in Camden. He gets so cold and wet when it rains, I just wanted to help him out. If anyone knows where to get a good, heavy suit please let me know. Thanks.

Lynda - for the run of the mill, H.D. type rain suits, try Lowe's Bldg Supply - the only problem is that I hope everyone there likes yellow. I mean bright yellow!

Yeah, Dale, the yellow color stands out like a sore thumb, but just think--if you lose yer footing, get sucked down into a hole and drown, the authorities won't have any problem finding yer bod when they come looking fer ya!
Or, you could always, in a pinch, just cut a hole in a big garbage bag and stick yer head thru it, and use it as a slicker! They come in several colors, ya know!

Lynda, I just saw some at BJ's. The only problem is that they only had really large sizes. However, I'm gearing up my daughter for adventure camp (backpacking in the NH White Mountains and kayaking in ME) so I'll let you know what I find! I might be heading down to DE to the outlets to look for good hiking boots for her!

Look at the Cascade Waterproof Rain Parka that Campmor has to offer for $30.00. They still have the Green and Blue in stock.

If you could spare a few more bucks. The Cabelas Micro Pack Parks is one tough cookie for the price. Loaded with features and very light weight. I never leave home without at least the jacket. The pants comes seperate. You can choose between the Mossy Oak Break-Up or Advantage Timber patterns. I choose the Advantage Timber for i thought that it matched 90% of the streams inwhich I fish.

I had a Stearns Rain suit that I have came from K Mart a few years ago, and to be honest, I wish that I had left it at K Mart. The cuffs just have a snap button the has only two adjustments. They will not close the cuff as tight as I would like.The cuffs also chaf my wrist a little to much. It also seems bulky which is not good for fishing. I gave it away.

I know what you mean by the yellow color. Spooks to many fish for my likeing. Give me a good Camo pattern anyday.

While I was routing around over there on the Cabelas' site, I also noted they had another (shorty) river wading jacket for $29.95, about what I paid for the last one, and it lasted quite awhile. If all goes well (and gas prices level off), we might make another fishing trip up to Michigan; then I'll be able to stop off at the Cabelas' store at Dundee, MI, and "try them on".

Thanks for the tips guys....this week has been so rainy and when I get the chance I will either ck. them out or tell my son to get over there and ck. them out. He has been using the one he has, but it isn't too good.
