ellen, your progress is wonderful! I don't have anything blooming yet that was WS. Some of the stuff is just hanging out and not doing much of anything. Others are being eaten by the bugs. I know once the hot weather starts things will take off. I have moonvine (white) planted. I would love to trade with you for some purple. I didn't even realize that purple moonvine existed. I thought that the flower (white) opening at night was representative of the moon! lol

Your tomatoes have blight. Probably early blight but I can't tell as we get both types in my part of the country and the plants are dead in just a few days. The spores stick to leaves when leaves are wet. I suggest 1. Rotating crops. 2. Use a mulch to keep the spores down. 3. Don't wet the leaves when irrigating. 4. North Dakota State University apparently tested a lot of different varieties, and none were immune, but it seems to me that some varieties have more resistance than others. If combined with other strategies, picking resistant varieties might help. Not all varieties advertised as blight resistant really are.

I agree with tropic, way to much water, mine likes to be on the drier side to be happy. I would remove it from the pot asap and get all that wet soil out of the pot and add dry soil..

My suggestion is to read up on the benefits of feeding a carb-free wet food diet - a diet of dry high carb diet can be major factor in both kidney and diabetes. Yes of course you need to weigh the possibility of euthanasia, but in my experience this decision becomes much clearer once Ive exhausted all the possibilities. Correction - all the reasonable possibilties - of course none of us would want to keep a beloved kitty suffering just for our sake. FWIW, I found that my diabetic cat accepted the shots far more easily than pills. These are VERY fine needles that go into the scruff - cat does not see it and the prick feels more like a mosquito bite than the big honkin vaccination shots you get at a doctor. I tested it on myself before giving it to my boy. After a while they learn it makes them feel better and my cat would actually come to me to ask for his shot if I was running late. Just one more thought. Please do not let anyone tell you you are "selfish". If your vet tells you this, I suggest you find a euathanasia specialist. Its OK and not unusual that people will find someone else for end of life issues. My dear vet must have spent an hour on the phone with me one day while I wept and tried to decide if it was time. A good vet for end of life issues realizes her job is to help the person as well as the animal client. You willl know your cat and read her signals but even then.... you may find second guessing to be part of your experience.. I will just say personally did not have the happy experience of euthanasia ... My dear vet told me that amongst her clients. about half said they acted too soon the other half said it was too late. She said very few thought it was just right. What that tells us IMHO is that second-guessing is part of the grief process for aLOT of us.... and we should go in knowing that. Best to you as you weigh all the options.l
