I tend to think rabbit is your most likely culprit, and it really is not unusual to never lay eyes on the little guys. It would be a very normal rabbit to know when you are out during the day. As prey animals they are very sensitive to changes in the environment around them and you make plenty of noises inside the house that they can hear... And they can tell when the house is silent. They are experts at freezing and blending into the background if humans suddenly appear. They also get quite well acquainted with our schedules and will grab a bite to eat when they know we are not usually outside. I once spent an extra half hour outside on a nice June evening at dusk and startled the heck out of two rabbits who frolicked their way up from the bottom of our property to end right by my feet at the clover patch right there. I was also surprised because I assumed they would have come from the much closer tree-farm off to the side. I could tell by their shocked expressions when they realized I was there that they were thinking "you're never out here at this time of day!" Anyway. I had one remaining chard plant in my garden that very slowly got grazed down to a nub, and then they gnawed on the stump of it. So I can attest that my rabbits like chard. A simple solution would be to get some bird netting and wrap it around a tomato cage and place that over the chard plant. Cheers!

Whats the problem with them finding food and eating it Gosh humans and dogs cant eat it because its toxic and is even banned in some states. Gosh just let them eat They probably don’t have anything else to eat. I read they only eat that if its nothing else around for them to eat. How about you buy them some unsalted nuts instead of trying to throw pee on them. Would you like someone to do that to you if you were homeless and trying to find food to survive? Why be a mean evil person when you SEE THEY ARE NOT HUMAN AND CANT GET A JOB SO THEY HAVE TO FIND FOOD EVEN IF ITS IN YOUR YARD. ITS CALLED WILDLIFE AND TRYING TO SURVIVE JUST LIKE YOU. I GUESS YOU’d have to be homeless to understand that You reap what you sow. I bet those squirrels planted many trees and gardens but humans just mow the garden away and chop down the trees which is their food supply and home. I BET THE SQUIRRELS PLANTED THE SEED THAT GREW THAT TREE WAY BEFORE YOU WERE BORN SO HAVE A HEART Your looking at the tree as beauty but they look at it as surving. Please just try to understand. I suppose every place has some type of animal that makes gardening a challenge. There are biting and stinging ants, deer, gophers, squirrels, rabbits, kangaroos, moles, and there will always be some that can't be stopped and so must be tolerated. Here in Tasmania we have brush-tail possums. They are an arboreal marsupial that can climb anything and will eat one bite out of every flower and piece of fruit in the garden. I once asked a horticulturist if there was anything that possums didn't eat and he said, "Garden gnomes, but only the concrete type because they will rip right through those plaster ones." He wasn't joking either.

Our catbird loves jelly too (Welch's grape)! Maybe one of those pretty jars you hang up with sugar water in the bottom, hung in the general vicinity of the feeder, would help distract the wasps/bees (and eliminate them). The necks on these jars are narrow, a bird couldn't go in but a bee could. I suppose you could even put jelly in the jar? Good luck!
