Thank you....I will do that. Sorry if I sounded like a whiner LOL! I know I need a lawyer...I guess I just needed to unload. It's just so frustrating to even talk to her. I don't mean to sound cold hearted, I really didn't mind helping her....but to go out of my way to be good to her, only to be berated is getting old. I really appreciate the advice. Another thing I'm dealing with is her dog LOL! She has a little Yorkie who I am worried about...it got very sick last week, and I had to take her to the vet for stomach problems. We couldn't figure out what kept making the dog sick. Yesterday I found out that she has been feeding her dog CHOCOLATE BARS! LOL! Her sister had brought her some candy, and that is what she was feeding her dog. I told her that chocolate is toxic for dogs , and she said "Well she likes it, so you don't know ANYTHING and she can eat what she wants!" So now I am going to have to protect the dog from her too I guess *rolls eyes*....

Old galvanized pipes have a finite lifespan. If you repair this leak, you have a good chance of it developing another leak in another location. The only good solution is a complete pipe replacement. The major expense of a pipe replacement will involve the digging of the trench from the meter to the house. This is an area where a DIYer can save some money. Have the utilities companies come out and mark the location of the pipe and any other utilities going to the home. Then you can choose a route parallel to the current pipe but just far enough away from it that you aren't disturbing it. You can rent a trencher (Maybe $200) and hand dig the larger access points at the meter and house. Then you can call a plumber to lay the pipe and make the connections. If you are not physically capable of doing this, then do you have any family or friends that would be? Church group? Scout troop? There are usually community resources that can help you to figure out what you can do here. The worst thing you can do is to ignore the leak.

This thread is getting kind of comical with the discussion of what an outhouse is versus a porta potty. If you go to www.dictionary.com, here's the definition of OUTHOUSE: an outbuilding with one or more seats and a pit serving as a toilet; privy. dictionary.com doesn't have a definition for porta potty, so I checked the associated encyclopedia, which is reference.com. For porta potty, they suggested Portable Toilet. Here's the definition of Portable toilet: A portable toilet , also known as a 'porta-potty', is a modern, portable, self-contained outhouse manufactured of molded plastic in a variety of colors and are often used as a temporary toilet for construction sites and large social gatherings. So, right there in virtual print, at reference.com, it says that a Porta Potty is a portable toilet, which is..... a modern, portable, self-contained outhouse! And, an outhouse is an outbuilding with one or more seats and a pit serving as a toilet; Granted, the 'pit' in a porta potty is shallow and self contained (not dug in the ground) but it is certainly a pit. And, so far as having hand sanitizer and real toilet paper, those are often included in traditional wooden outhouses as well as the plastic modern outhouse porta potty!
