Kim Nice photos and garden . I also have the jewelbox but gave up on it, practically useless as far as hummers go. I mainly use the first nature 16 oz , pp209 glass , also have a hummzinger excel. I also have several of those one port feeders. I dont have a have alot of good pics of my garden from last year . You might want to take a look at this vid which show hummers and some of my garden. Here is a link that might be useful: hummers and garden 2010

It would be very unlikely to find a nesting hummingbird in the Ft. Myers area but not impossible. It wouldn't be uncommon for you to find one during migration or to have a winter resident if you're lucky enough to live in a an older neighborhood with mature trees and landscaping with tubular flowers. Do not use any of the red premix it can be harmfull to hummingbirds!!!! Use white granulated cane sugar and water only 1:4 Personally I use only bottled water for my hummers, better taste. Some of the smaller feeders will leak if not filled full and then they may still leak just a little. Hang your feeder in an area where you have seen them garden area or from a tree. During this month you should see more hummers as they are working their way back south.

The other morning a Hummingbird was flitting around a Heavenly Blue morning glory while I was taking off the spent blooms from the day before to minimize reseeding on tiny but valuable full sun location. Hummer flitted and promptly left. Don't know if it was me or the color he didn't like...LOL. When I wear a red tee shirt I get Hummer buzzed all day when I'm outside! I've read they're only attracted to the red morning glory. I ordered seeds for Scarlet Runner Bean which I've also read they're attracted to for nectar. Any experience with that? My Morning Glory wasn't blooming either and, again, I read on some thread that someone gave it a shot of phosphate so I went and bought a BAG of it. Fed it a bit, lightly watered it in and in a couple days it started it's blooming madness. I have not a clue if it was the phosphate or it was just the normal time it would have bloomed anyway. Now I have a bag of phosphate for any other non-blooming plant suspects...LOL. I have to stop trying everything I read about or I'm going to either go crazy, broke or a combination of the two.
