With 31 sites, Doane Valley Campground is a great escape in the Palomar Mountain area. Located in northern San Diego County, it's one of the few areas in SoCal with a Sierra Nevada-like vibe. One thing: some of the sites are known to be on a slight incline, so if you want to avoid that then look for the 1-8 loop. Cedar Grove Group Campground, is close by, so you won’t have to worry about massive parties right next to your site. However, Doane Valley sites are somewhat close together, so you might have to get to know some of your neighbors.

Do you know the allowable variance in floor height? I’ll take a look at the product. We can get to -25 but it’s pretty rare (more likely that it would be wind chill). If we had a one off day with that low of temp, would that be a deterrent?

@Jennifer Hogan we also thought about having more of a salt box style. There's a small loft(?) That is only accessible by ladder from the living room at this point. Would be great if in fixing the roof issue we could have walk up access to it. This multi roof design does that but the single roof could probably allow for that as well? Bedrooms are to the left under that flat roof.

exactly, yes, the city has homeless camping all over the streets.... And we are not allowed to camp in our virtually finished house? Maybe we should threaten to add to the homeless issue. Our contractor meanwhile is telling us the inspector may deny us because a wall oven we ordered over a year ago will not arrive until August.
