We have just purchased a used rv. Its a 24 ft Coachman total electric. Does any one know what size and wattage is best suited for this size?

Call the company or dealer.

Most people won't have a clue.

Hopefully its quiet if you go to a campground, although many of those have electric outlets these days.

It my be rated by amps or by volts.

I don't own an rv however I own a couple of generators. It is best you do some research on generators so you will understand better on what you are buying. For instance generators have two ratings. Continueous watts and peek watts.

As an example a 5000 continueous watt/5500 peek watt rated generator is suspose to handle 5000 watts total of continue use. If you just turn on your generator and you are using 5000 watts it will draw over 5000 watts at first before it goes back down to 5000 watts. So when you go over that 5000 watt rating you are going into the peek watts.

When buying a generator to use if the power goes out in a house what you do is count up all the watts you want to run like a tv, fridge, lights, etc. Then choose a generator that goes well over your estimated watts used. Smaller generators can run quieter while larger generators can sound louder. Small portable generators have smaller gas tanks and run just a few hours while the larger ones have bigger gas tanks which run longer hours.

New info but they're doubtless a double check to confirm the contractor's work to match structure requirements and equipment size. Expensive to return and replace equipment affixed to a concrete pad if it turns out to be too small, for example. Companies who manufacture and sell technical products of a bigger than a breadbox variety, or that perform technical tasks, have in-house engineers to coordinate with potential customer personnel, to facilitate the sales. I worked with many companies in such businesses, some whose average individual customer sales were large (tens of millions of dollars). The technical resources I knew of were called Sales Tech Support, Sales Support Engineers, or even Pre-Sales Tech Support. At the companies I knew all had Engineering degrees, they weren't techs. "Sales Engineers" is close enough. They were in-house employees, some of whom I knew personally. I knew none to have had state licenses. Maybe it's different in Canada. Your advice was to have the contract signed/stamped by a Professional Engineer. Which again, for those who don't know, is a title for a person with a state license to practice engineering for compensation as an advisor or consultant. Which isn't what sales support engineers do.
