Hikiing & Primitive Camping Blue Ledge Mine

This suggestion for camping would be useful mainly for people who are, or will be near Applegate Lake at the California / Oregon border area.

It's an old 1930s copper mine area, with a hiking trail to the top and excellent views.

This would have to be primitive camping only, where you drive near, hike up, and spend the night: or, make it a day hike.

Here's a page with map, and a video...

Hiking & Camping Blue Ledge Mine

Its in the midst of Rogue River National Forest. The page mentions an additional route to get to the top of the hill, above the mine, using another road and secondary road. That part of the hill is even more scenic from the top. We did spend the night camping, using that route.

I've used the shorter route coming up on the east side, mainly for hiking. Great place to sit down and eat a meal.
