Thanks everyone for the kind words! I think I dug the trench , and leveled the edging on the two most humid days of the year... Its a good thing sweat doesn't hurt the garden ! haha It makes it very easy to mow and maintain with the edging at ground level..Though I admit..every time I see a garden with a nice block wall planter I am envious of that look as well. When I planted I really tried to look down the road a few years. The more I read here, the more I understood that spacing, and not disturbing the plants is a big bonus. I was pretty tempted every time I set a new plant down to put them closer. The few smaller types I did put out front with larger ones behind. With a little luck there won't be much mulch showing in the summer months :)

The only reason I guessed young orchard oriole is because when I looked in my Peterson book, the young orchard oriole seemed to be the only one with that dark area under it's beak.

Nice set, it's really fun watching the young ones, isn't it? I especially love watching the woodpeckers trying to figure their way around the feeder.
