I checked more pictures on the sialis site and I found a picture of a female HOSP with pinkish feet. I believe you are correct, TMFF, that this is indeed a HOSP. The beak and feet threw me off. I guess this female just has very bright feet and as you say, an exaggerated top beak. Thank you for your reply.

Did it have that black line between his beak and his eye? If so, it was probably a Northern Mockingbird. I know I'm still seeing them around here.

I agree with Red-winged Blackbird, and probably an immature male. That bar on the shoulder (coverts?) is not usually found on a female. Nice pictures! Claire
