New natural protection from Mosquitoes

I have been camping all over the country and all of you fellow campers know, besides rain, nothing ruins a trip more than mosquitoes.

We just took a trip to the panhndle, Florida, where the mosquitoes were out in full. We met the owner of a company that makes a product called Gardener's Armor. He gave us some tubes and he now has a customer for life.

It is all natural and keeps the bugs away. It also has an SPF of 20 and protects the skin from poiosn ivy and oak.

I was absolutely amazed. My kids loved it. They used everyday going to the beach and into the pine woods around the campsite. They were bug bite free and with all the poison ivy around the area they were free from scratching and sores.

This is beyond anything I have tried. Let me know if anyone else has tried it. You can only buy it online at ww.gardener'sarmor.com. I think its about $9.00 per tube.

Thanks to connyguest for this useful tip. I will definitely try this product because every time I go camping my whole body is littered with mosquitoes stitches. I have also tried each and every product but nothing really worked for me personally. Cannot wait to test this new product. If it is really working he has another customer for life. :-)

I would like to try this product as I am very allergic to poison ivy and insect bites. The thing that worries me about it is that you can't find out what's in this product without first spending the money to buy some. Why don't they just list the contents on their web site if it is patented and such a good product?

I have skin allergies. Any time you go to the store you can look at the label of any skin care or health product to see if there is anything in the contents you are allergic to or would choose not to expose yourself to for any reason.

It doesn't seem reasonable to require you to spend $20 plus shipping for a product you don't even know if you can use.

If anyone has a tube of this stuff, please post the contents here as listed on the label and do us all a favor. Then maybe we will buy it.

i am new to this site as well as internet an computers. would like to say that most of the solutions for fleas is great and effective however more information an suggestions should be included. leas from previous owners, other people bring in, regardless if you have pets or not is a process an dedication to eliminate the problem. if you have pets i suggest you kennel them a week, vacuum entire home beds furniture. immediately take vacuum outside empty into plastic bag tie securely. all floors should be sprinkled with a mixture of borax, crushed dried lavender,basil,cedar an citronella. let stand 24 hours. vacuum everything up an again empty vacuum outside in plastic bag tied. make a spray to apply to beds, couches, pet beds made with 1/2 of your spray bottle of witch hazel, 5 drops each of lavender, lemongrass, peppermint, tea tree and eucalyptus fill rest of bottle with water. spray everything. mop all floors an floor boards with same mixture. bath your pets with an oatmeal shampoo and add few drops of lavender and tea tree prior to bringing pets back into home.. use the sray mixture weekly pet beds or where pet spends alot of time, if you dont want to use advantage or products of that nature should bath pet every 2nd or 3rd week in shampoo mixture. hope this is of help an relief to others out there. i also put cedar bow clippings under pet bed an around the yard

Squirrels will kill adult birds at feeders also. When I lived around them I had squirrel baffles on the poles and all my feeders had grids. My platform feeder had a 1" grid over it also to keep out the starlings and cowbirds that bully the song birds. Keeping the feeders and birdhouses quite far from fences and trees helps also. Squirrels can jump really far. I have a friend who calls them flying rats. I also had a clear dome over one niger feeder. It's a lot of paraphernalia but I felt like I had to protect them if I was going to lure birds to the feeders. Here we have trouble with hawks that sit on the fence and wait for the quail and small birds to get distracted. There's kind of a downside to feeders and bird baths I guess. Birdhouses are easier to protect. Sounds like you have a good plan for the houses. So nice that you are looking out for the babies.

Oh, I know how great DEET is for repelling those durned biting insects....no question about it. It's just that some of us need to work harder at it than others. Children should not be exposed to DEET, either. Anyway, I am one of those who is always interested in products that have SAFE repellent qualities, even if I have to reapply frequently. I highly recommend sundog's suggestion that DEET products be sprayed on your clothing, rather than all over your bare skin. Avoid applying to your scalp, where the skin is so thin. Spray it all over a hat, instead.

the ONLY thing that could damage these plants.. IS YOU.. step back into the house.. AND LET MA NATURE DO HER THING ... You are in z7 ... you and your plants will not know what cold is ... [its been single digits here in MI most the week...] all the plants are fully suited for the temps ... and snow is the best insulator in winter ... let it pile up ... stuff does happen .. so be it.. but i would prefer to blame ma nature.. rather than later figure out.. i screwed it all up ... ken ps: if after its all done.. some branches are bending down... if you can/want to go out there... very gently knock of snow that is causing the bending ... i would only do it in the worst case scenario ..
