Proliferation. Nothing to worry about. Some roses do it no matter what you do (or don't) do. Some seem triggered by too much nitrogen. Others seem to be triggered by weather changes or extremes. It is also a common "fault" carried through the breeding line of Souv. de Claudius Pernet, for whatever reason. Don't worry about it as it is simply part of the characteristics expressed by many roses. Ralph Moore created a little red mini which did it all the time, every flower. He planned on using it as a premium plant to be given away with magazine subscriptions. He considered it a novelty because it resembled a red salad bowl with a lettuce salad in it. I raised one which did it frequently and was quite attractive. Unfortunately, the plant under it wasn't very good. Tequilla Sunrise did it all the time for me. Many others do, too. " Actually only noticed because bugs are coming in through it. " Cannot tell much of anything from 3" away but at the end of the day the bugs are showing there. From what I can see does not look out of the ordinary. They are getting in elsewhere. The gap at trim to wall connection is purely aesthetic and no to keep bugs out. Look for another area the bugs are coming in as fixing the wall trim gap will only lead to them coming out a different way.

Your contractor is wrong. None of that is normal. The vertical seal gap is actually pretty telling diagnostically. That rubber sweep along the jamb is supposed to compress when the door closes — if you can pull the door snug and see it seal right, the glass itself is the correct size. What that tells you is the panel is sitting in the wrong position, which means a hinge or jamb plumb problem during install, not a seal defect. The bottom wiper should sit evenly close to the floor along its whole length. Uneven gaps like you're describing usually mean the glass panel is racked slightly in the frame. That unevenness will tear the sweep faster than normal and let water through along the low spots. The hard close is the one I'd worry about most. A properly hung frameless door closes with almost no effort — pushing it across the threshold suggests it's out of square with the opening and binding at the bottom corner. That kind of friction chews through sweeps and eventually stresses the hinges. Worth calling the glass company directly rather than going through the contractor. Most have a warranty window and will send someone out to check hinge plumb and jamb angle for free. Framing it as "I want a warranty inspection before the 90 days is up" tends to get results faster than complaints through a GC middleman. I'll check the manual to see if there's something in it to stop the airflow coming back. The transition looks pretty gradual to my eyes, but WDIK? Anyway, it is whatever it is, I won't be changing that. But that does explain the large equivalency number. Both the existing hood, and the Zephyr Gust I'm considering for replacement, are baffled. I was disappointed to find most Zephyrs use mesh filters. I guess that's what a lot of people prefer. At this time, I'm not considering anything beyond a hood replacement. I realize adding a MUA method would be ideal, allowing a hood with some hefty airflow to be used. I'll probably just stick with our current hood, then, since it sounds like it might not be much of an improvement, given the pretty signficant cost (around $1K, with installation). Regardless, it seems like the unit would have to be dismounted to change anything. The best I can try is to simply plug up the holes the air is coming through with a piece of rag or something. But maybe it was designed to always have air flowing out of it.
