Yeah, working on my tractors to get them running for summer work! And, i did get the motor-home running one day!

I'm waiting for the rain to stop before I head out to the Olympic Peninsula. This weekend, I gotta do some weeding in the garden.

Ride my bike, ride my bike, ride my bike.... got to really ride my mtn bike a lot the next two weeks to get my legs into better shape for my big climb in the Virgin River Gorge. Got to climb up 2,000 ft or more elevation through cactus. Can't wait! The riding should make the scramble much easier. I want to drop a few pounds, but the ladies at work are such great cooks! I keep getting cookies, baked treats, potluck lunches, birthday party dinners,
I hate to say no. Everyone is so nice. Don't want to hurt feelings.... also, who wants to turn down this awesome food? mmmm.....

So, I am on the Bill Clinton diet: Eat Eat Eat junk food,
then run, workout, and hope for a middle of the road result.

See if your BF would want to stop in to a sporting goods store and "RENT" some snowshoes for the trip?
Call around- you may spend about 8 - 12 dollars to rent them. Ever snowshoed? it's something different for sure.

I'm taking a week's motorcycle trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. Saturday we're attending a Coastal Conservation League walk and talk, then just lounging around and walking on our own for a few days.

I'm leaving from the Washington, DC area today so that I can take secondary roads and drop through Charleston for lunch tomorrow.

Just got back from a week on the Oregon coast with my 16 and 17 year old daughters. Headed down last Saturday and set up the tent in the rain. Some creative tarping and we were able to cook and eat out of the rain, but it didn't let up much all week. We did get a couple hikes out to the beach, climbed Cape Kiwanda (no hang-gliders this week, too much wind) and spent a day in Newport climbing the lighthouses and checking out the downtown area. It was a wet, windy start to the camping season, but I still enjoyed it. I'm not sure if the girls will go again this year. Oh well, maybe it's time to leave them at home and go by myself once in a while. jennmonkey, I hope your trip turns out a little drier than mine, and if not, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Hey folks, just got back. Had a great time and not one drop of rain. The campgrounds were pretty much empty, on Saturday night, we were the only ones on one side of the campground. Did about 7 miles of hiking around the state park. We attempted to see how far we could get up the mountain, and we didn't even make it to the trailhead. There was so much snow we had to turn around. Oh well, luckily some good lowland hikes around. Here is a pic my BF took while hiking.

Did ya ever snowshoe? It's challenging, lot to learn, but fun, too. They really do help a lot! It really adds a fun twist to your trip with a new thing to try out!

No snowshoeing yet, but I do want to try it. The only problem is (I hate snow)... lol. I will try it someday though. I'll have to rent some shoes.
