Need help with squirrels

I have two dinner bell bird feeders hung on a tree with thick thorns on it's trunk, however, squirrels can still climb it with no problem. They can do it from the bottom or use a nearby tree to jump to the top. The top doesn't have any thorns. I think if I cover the top with barbed wire the squirrels will get inside the platform and eat the seed that way.

Preferably, I'd like to keep the feeders, since I like the ease of cleaning and the view that it gives, but I need to find a way to keep the squirrels out because I want to start to feed black oil sunflower seeds to attract some chickadees. The tree trunk is about 5 inches in diameter.
