Thanks for another nest cam to watch. I love that the falcons didn't even have to build a nest - the Iowa Department of Natural Resources built one for them. Claire

Debbie congrats on such a rare beauty! I saw my very first Peregrine in my backyard as well in the winter of 2002, not far from you in NJ. They will stay in the area all year long.If you feed songbirds you may get a bird-eating Raptor like this around your neigborhood. They are the fastest bird in the world. once again congrats and great pics btw! -stephen

It is a really interesting book. I read it several years ago after reading a message from Barbara on this forum. Last weekend I saw first hand results from the recovery of the peregrines. I went to Washington Monument State Park near Boonsboro to try and spot some migrating raptors. I saw several hawks but no peregrines. I then went to a Ravens football game where I did see a peregrine. A peregrine was floating around above Ravens stadium. It got so close to where I was sitting that I could see it very easily without binoculars. I think the peregrine was trying to figure out what happened to the pigeons that were hanging out at the stadium the previous day, and where did all these people come from. The peregrine even landed on one of the light stands. Richard

I hate to see them chained too. I have a coopers hawk that visits my yard every morning to catch his meal. Sometimes at dusk too. Got to see him catch a dove one morning. Awesome. Just recently he caught one by it running into my sliding door. I had to peek out to see him take it, in the meantime, I was able to get three photos. Thanks for the labels for the birds, wasn't sure on the kestrel.
