Peregrine Falcon info ?

Hi, this past November, I had this beauty visit my backyard on Long Island, NY. The great folks on the birding forum told me what it was and how lucky I was. But I have a few questions.

Was this bird migrating south or does it winter in my area?

It was here for at least 2 days that I'm sure of and spent 1 full night in my tree. It left after a pigeon breakfast. Do they follow the same path on returning - if it was indeed migrating?

Debbie congrats on such a rare beauty!
I saw my very first Peregrine in my backyard as well in the winter of 2002, not far from you in NJ.
They will stay in the area all year long.If you feed songbirds you may get a bird-eating Raptor like this around your neigborhood.They are the fastest bird in the world.

There is a wonderful webcam site for peregrine falcons at the link below. My husband actually saw one of these birds with a pigeon in the city one time. I haven't been that lucky, but I do enjoy following them on the webcam! The falcons currently have 4 eggs.
