Has our Eastern Phoebe abandoned her chicks?

We have an Eastern Phoebe nesting close to our house. She has four chicks in the nest, and although I'm uncertain as to their exact age, I've noticed a very marked change in her habits for three days now. Before, there was a flurry of activity at the nest by she and her mate. It seemed they were everywhere -either looking for food, waiting to deliver food, or actually at the nest delivering the food.

About three days ago, though, I've noticed we haven't seen much of either her or her mate. The chicks look to be quite well along, like they should be ready to leave the nest soon, but no Phoebes. I've rarely seen them in the last three days. Have they abandoned the chicks? (In the past she's only had one chick and it just seems like I woke up one day and it was gone. These chicks just seem to be sitting in the nest -doing nothing, including eating.)

I would be most appreciative if anyone can shed some light on this for me.

Thank you,

Amy
