Still here!

Yeah, old Rusty Jones is still in good health, and still able to take nourishment every day, along with a can of bubbly every day! I'm thinking of the many years we camped, all over the USofA., and the many friends we made while doing it. Saw a lot of country, and a lot of states. The good old days!
I tried selling my motor home, but everybody wanted it for free. Then, a relative asked if i'd take $500 for it! He got it for that, and now its his prize, to use on his fishing jaunts.
So, if all goes well, and i can hold onto my health, maybe i'll get out again. Depends on Ruth's health. I won't go if she needs me here.
So, you folks get out there and see the country, as much as you can, before our esteemed president clamps the socialist fist down on yer heads. Have fun! Rustyj

Hey Rusty,

Hope all is status quo with you guys. Healthy new year to ya.

Unfortunately, I believe my camping days are dwindling as well. Where I used to go every month, now it is to become sporatic at best. My son decided to leave scouts this year and though he said he'd go camping without the troop, I can't see that happening too often with both of our work/school responsiblities. I did, however, get a call from the troop fathers who said they miss our presence and that I should go up to the next trip even if my son doesn't. I believe it's going to happen and I've already got approval from my family to partake.

So the thrill is not done yet. The camping boxes are still filled ready to go at a moment's notice. I do miss the anticipation knowing when i'd be going next, but this is good enough for now. I'll probably be lucking going 2 or 3 times a year. If that.

Seems all our camping days are dwindling. A couple of years ago we bought a new 2011 Sundance 5th wheel hoping to camp more since we retired. Unfortunately my DH's health went downhill (he is on oxygen full time now) so we have only used the camper about 5 times. Such is life, I guess.

Hi garden_gal and Irma, it’s so good to hear from you both again and gratifying that you remember my little garden. In answer to your questions, we do still live in the same house. The garden looked wonderful for several years but the shrubs eventually grew very large and many of the plants died off or had to be removed. I have found it increasingly difficult to find pesticide free butterfly host plants and attractors but this is my mission again this year. The garden has evolved but I am happy to report that it is indeed still alive with butterflies, bees and hummers!

Linus2003, are you still around? I need some help on my Miele w1918. I have a hot water solenoid I need replacing but thats not the big issue. I have a problem getting the water up to temp. I have just unpluged the machine but I am now ready to look into the issue. My thoughts are the heating elements need replacing. Is there a thermostat too? That could be the problem. I have not taken it apart yet. What do you recommend. Anyone else interested in this repair? I welcome all input. thanks.
