Do birds eat millipedes?

To my horror tonight, as DH and I were strolling along in our backyard, enjoying the flowers and watergardens, we suddenly realized that there were hundreds if not thousands of millipedes on the ground!! (at least that's what I think they are). I totally freaked. At first, I thought I was standing on wet ground because of the sound.......but no........it was piles and piles of millipedes!

We live in the woods and have many, many birds. Is it possible that the birds will find them and eat them????

Please tell me yes!

Thanks.
