BB's and loud noises

Hi all....i hope ya'll excuse all my questions but i'm trying desperately to learn all i can about my precious blues.....i got some mealies from the baitshop yesterday to hold me over till my order comes in....this morning my blues had just got here and were so enjoying their mealies and i was very much enjoying watching them.....my neighbors burn trash in a drum sometimes and evidently there was an aerosol can in there this morning....when that thing exploded my blues scattered and i havent seen them since....that was about 3.5 hrs. ago.....will they come back?....i would think they would have already came back knowing there are mealies here........Bren

Hi Bren,
I would guess that yes, you will see them again. Now days, I see blues in the mornings and evenings only. Rarely do they visit mid-day.
Glad you were able to enjoy them earlier today......and I bet you will see them again!

I agree with Mac.I think the Blues have short term memories when it comes to noises that scare them.My mama Blue was once almost swept by a nasty hawk while she was perched on the hook.She disappeared immediately and I thought the hawk took her.Late that evening she showed up again at the feeder!!!

Shekveva Adams - its just the metal expanding and contracting. It expands when heated and contracts when it cools and that is the sound you are hearing after you shut the oven off. I think in my Bluestar gas range/oven I hear it a loud boom about 15 minutes after I shut the oven off. I dont think you need to call anyone unless you want to pay them $100/hour to tell you that its thermodynamics.

@nwfan, did you ever solve the issue with your machine? We have a 2010 Miele Inspira that has also been making a similar noise for some time--we replaced the impeller for the circulation pump a few months ago (fortunately Miele USA does still sell the parts separately, though you have to call them directly) after finding that the impeller had split into two just like Petr's photo, which improved but did not entirely resolve the noise. Ignored it after that since it was cleaning fine but now it is giving us an F14 fault code and stopping at that point in the cycle, so clearly the noise was indicating something wrong. We've taken it all apart and checked most everything that is a common source of that code but nothing seems obviously amiss, so we're running out of ideas. Curious to know whether you found a solution (and if so, what the problem ultimately was).

Rooftop HVAC/Ducting very loud booming noise in wind

Hi! I'm trying to get more information before I actually attempt to access the roof or report this as I'm really just unsure what is acceptable. We live on the top floor of a 9 storey building. When we get southerly winds above about 50km/h gusts the HVAC ducting (whatever you call the big sheet metal boxes on the roof?) makes a loud booming noise that often wakes me up. It's like the sound of someone throwing around a washing machine - that sheet metal noise. I've linked a couple of voice notes but it's really hard to get a good recording from my phone. You'd definitely have to listen with headphones. Mac and Michelle...thanks for the replies....they showed back up but not until this morning and not as many of them....only counted 5 all day long.....i didnt think i would be lucky enough for all of them stick around...i only had one nesting pair late in the season and they only had one to fledge so i feel blessed to have had the others here that long....they were here for weeks.....maybe the 2 extras will decide they like it here and want to stay...i suppose they could be babies my pair had before they nested here.....thanks again !!!!!!!........Bren
