Oh my! I think they are dead! Please help!

I had a second nesting. Left to go out of town and returned on 6/27. After a day or two, I noticed a fledgling at the entrance hole and it appeared he was sure ready to fledge! After a few days, I had not seen or heard any blues around and assumed they all left on schedule. A few minutes ago, I decided to clean out the box, opened it and saw a baby or two...touched one but couldn't tell if it was warm or cold, as I panicked and quickly shut the box! I believe they are dead but not sure and no sign of Mama or Daddy in a while. This has never happened! Can anyone shed some light on this? What should I do? Thank you!
