This is SO worth it! (nest cam)

Janey May you don't know what you are missing! Today my babies have their eyes open and they are beginning to walk around a little bit, of cours now they can see where they are going!;) This morning they were standing up for a moment to flap their little wings and would fall over backwards, by this afternoon they have figured out how to tripod with those stubby little tail feathers (that werent there this morning)! They hear Mom coming and it looks like they are tackling each other to be the first in line. They have figured out that the biggest mouth wins so here they go leaning their heads so far back they fall over again! They have started pecking at the walls and each other and are actually beginning to preen themselves. It is just amazing how much they change in just one day.

Bird box nest camera. Mine is a "birdhouse Spy Cam" or "Night Owl Nature Cam" I can't believe how much I have been missing! Tonight was the first night without Mom in the box and they are all huddled up together, when one baby moves they all move like they were glued together, they move like one little ball of feathers...ok everybody go left....ok now right..nope back to the left! Once in awhile one will pop out of the huddle to stretch then dive right back in the middle. This is too much fun!

YOUR WELCOME!! I searched for bluebird nestcams and found this one..here is the link to the website. this has a little more info .. I would have to learn a bunch to figure out how to get one working.. but it would be fun. Suggestion: I keep the birdcam window up, and just resize all my other computer program windows so I any activity will catch my eye. Every once in a while I have to hit F5 to refresh it.. I've seen her in there this morning. IT seems like most nest building happens in the morning. Hard work I guess, then they need the rest of the day to rest and feed.. The female heron was attacked by a Great Horned Owl twice, early in the morning on April 8 and 9, while she was incubating the eggs. She wasn't noticeably harmed and the eggs are OK. Thank you Renee - did you look at them? I am surprised how much they move around the first day - I expected them to be pretty still until the food arrived.... someone is always squirming around and disturbing the other and then they move, etc. etc. I have to *make* myself leave and go do laundry - I could watch them for hours :)

Hi Lisa, So glad you are enjoying the experience. Really how could you not? My mother stopped staying overnight a while ago, but for the first nesting she stayed til they were quite old, I'm thinking the warmer weather really affects that behavior. Mine are 15 days old now and they are stretching and preening. Eventually you see them flapping their wings fast like they are practicing flying. I'm still amazed that i'm sharing their private lives like this. What a privilege.

I saw a camera at Sams today but it seemed rather large??
How big are your nest boxes?
I didnt see one called a bird Cam?
I want one SO bad!!!
