Blue Grosbeak

Hi. I'm in southern Ontario, just north of Goderich. I Last Thursday I saw a blue coloured bird eating from the niger seed feeder. I looked at him through the binoculars for a few minutes, assumed he was an indigo bunting, which I've actually never seen, and went back to reading. About an hour later I thought I should get my bird book out and see if it was indeed an indigo bunting. I compared the picture, but this bird had brown and black on his wings, and the bunting doesn't. Imagine my surprise when I saw that the bird matched exactly the picture of the blue grosbeak! I saw the same bird on the same feeder the next day, Friday, and I haven't seen him since. He was just passing through on his way to somewhere else, it seems. My bird book said they are a very rare visitor to the area, but that they have moved farther north in the last century. I was just wondering how rare they actually are in this area, and if anyone here would know? Thanks.
