Could it be house wrens?

My neighbor has a first year bluebird box - the bluebirds have had one successful brood that fledged, and then a 2nd clutch w/ 4 eggs. Yesterday, they discovered that 2 of the eggs had been punctured, not cracked like a HOSP might do. Today, 3 eggs were gone, and only one punctured egg left in the nest. From what I've read on sialis.org, all signs point to the House Wren.

We live in coastal southeast Georgia, almost Florida, and my bird books are showing the house wren being a winter bird here. I know not everything is "by the book" when it comes to birds. Do you think the House Wren is the likely perp, or is there anything else it could be? Thanks so much for your input.
