This year is the first in about 5 years that I've seen the grosbeaks. I had 5 males on the feeder at one time, with more females scattered about. Here's a picture of a pair that I shot. Of course, the mail had his back to me!

This has been my best bird day, ever! Not long after posting this, several Northern Orioles flew in too. "The Gang's All Here!" and they're certainly making my feeder tree and post very colorful. Linda OHnowGA ~ Do you use the "upside down" finch/nyjer feeder? It restricts the seed so only the goldfinches can get to it? That has helped keep some of my costs down. Of course, the Pine Warblers here can eat upside down, too, so they "share." And the doves are always on the ground to pick up the leftovers. Ont Gal ~ There has been a rumor that there have been nesting cardinals in Grand Forks for the past two-three years. I haven't seen them yet, but I keep hoping. Lynn D ~ I've never seen an Indigo Bunting "in person," but I certainly hope to. They have got to be magical. mare_wbpa.....My DH is a certified welder. That means I have a garage FULL(3 of them) of welders to play with. The swing is done as of yesterday, I'm starting on the cushions, Sunbrella fabric was ordered & has arrived. I'll post tomorrow....

It is sometimes surprising where they leave their fawns. We had a doe with twins hanging around our house last summer. One day, I opened the front door because I was going to town and there was a tiny fawn sleeping next to the front step. Not wanting to disturb it, I ended up not going to town that day.
