This year is the first in about 5 years that I've seen the grosbeaks. I had 5 males on the feeder at one time, with more females scattered about. Here's a picture of a pair that I shot. Of course, the mail had his back to me!

I will never forget the first time I saw a Rose Breasted Grosbeak. They look like they're dressed up in tuxedos They are just stunning. We had quite a few around here last year, but it seems to vary year to year. Hopefully they'll stay around your place this year. The ones here seemed to love the black oil sunflower seeds.

I still have Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks as well as Indigo Buntings. I've had a couple Baltimore Orioles (first sightings here) along with Bluebirds, Purple Martins, Ruby-Throat Hummingbirds, Brown Thrashers. I've only seen a few bees but no honey bees yet.

both mama and papa and 3 young ones showed up today together 2 young females and 1 young male. they tried the feeders and a pan of nuts and seeds and foraged on the ground for awhile. i was hoping to get a picture with all five together but only got three at once.
